Meet our February Dog of the Month, Sam! Named after Samwise Gamgee from The Lord of the Rings, this fluffy guy is the perfect representation of love, loyalty, and learning.

Sam has been a faithful companion to his mom, Lynn, and together they have embarked on their own epic journey here at Zoom Room. Through hard work, passion, and an unbreakable bond, this dynamic duo recently graduated from Agility! Sam continues to showcase his skills in Advanced Agility, and we hope to see them in Agility League soon!

Just as Samwise once said, “I can’t carry it for you, but I can carry you” our Sam and Lynn are always there to support each other, proving that with love, loyalty, and lots of laughter any challenge can be conquered together.

• Favorite Toy: Pupsicle Ball
• Favorite Treat: Bully Sticks. Freeze Dried Liver, and Carrots (but he would not turn down any tasty treat)
• Favorite Hobby: Hiking, playing chase, and protecting his family and kingdom (the yard) from vicious intruders (they are just squirrels and rabbits but don’t tell him that)
• Favorite activity at the Zoom Room: Completing courses in Advanced Agility alongside my mom and showing off my speed to all of my friends!

Sam the Brave’s owner, Lynn, had this to say:

Sam is the embodiment of his namesake, Samwise Gamgee, Frodo Baggins’ faithful companion in J.R.R. Tolkein’s epic The Lord of the Rings. Much like the hobbit, Sam is loyal to a fault and never leaves his parents’ sides. He can be brave when he needs to be, but he prefers the comfort and serenity of his yard and garden (he loves a good dig session and to quarrel with the rabbits). Sam is also extremely food motivated, wishing his diet could mirror the full splendor of hobbit meals (breakfast, second breakfast, elevensies, luncheon, afternoon tea, dinner, and supper, of course). Most of all, Sam is extremely loving and devoted. He is the sweetest, goodest, bestest boy.
