Team Buckley!

Seattle

Hi. I’m Buckley. I think I’m a basset hound, pit bull, beagle mix. But who knows what else might be in my family tree. I came to my new family in October 2015, at the age of about 2, after spending time alone on the streets.

Some facts about me: I am all about cuddling and burrowing. I like to charm little kids. When I wake up in the morning, I roll around on the floor while I wag my tail and try to talk. When I am excited to see someone, I have to grab a toy, shake my butt, and zoom around feverishly to calm myself down. I like to stare at people with deep intensity when they’re trying to work on their computers. And some might say my behavior with plush toys is obsessive, but I don’t care what they think.

After my time on the streets, though, I did have a whole host of fears and anxieties. I don’t like things that are new or unexpected or loud or, well, outside of my comfort zone.
But my family and other people in my life — including the fantastic Zoom Room crew — are helping me overcome my challenges. Cheryl has helped me gain confidence, strengthen my trust in my people, and reduce my fears through agility. And, as it turns out, I’m quite the quick study. (Bonus that I get to make my people run around to keep up with me because I like to sprint around the course.)

Oh, and, I’m deeply honored to be the dog of the month.
