Luke the Lab

Seattle

My name is Luke and I am a dog with a bit of a sorted history. I did not trust humans and I needed a family that was not afraid of hard work. I was in a very special foster home with Big Dog Rescue Project, one that had structure and they knew I wouldn’t do well with just any family. Jessica reached out to my foster home in hopes of adopting me, and they shared with them that I was going to need a lot of training and structure in my life; Jessica & Garrett accepted the challenge.

But my first week was a little rough. I didn’t trust anyone but Jessica & Garrett; everyone else was really scary – I didn’t even want the vet to touch me! They tried to introduce me to their friends but that was stressful. Next they tried to introduce me to a trainer, but he said I was too much. Second trainer was okay, but she was too busy and wasn’t able to help me.

My new parents kept talking with Big Dog Rescue Project the entire week, and I even heard them talk about sending me back. Luckily they decided to try one more place and they found Cheryl at the Zoom Room! Third time was the charm! We clicked! Cheryl took her time and let me BE ME! She helped Jessica and Garrett learn to communicate with me, and understand when I needed alone time. With a lot of structure and training, I am now able to hang out with my mom at CKO and 2.0 Next Level Fitness. I’m a gym dog!

So my past is a little sorted – but with all the love, structure and training I’m AN AWESOME DOG!! Be sure to follow my adventures on Instagram #Luke.the.lab
