Lola – April’s Dog of the Month

Seattle

Hi my name is Lola!

I am so excited to be April’s Dog of the Month because it has taken me a LOT of work to get here. I have a bit of a checkered past you see.   I was found wandering the streets of Grant County (Do you know where that is? Me either.) when I was picked up and put into the shelter system.   Then I was with one family for about 6 months, but they weren’t ready for my energy and size, so it was back to the shelter for me.

Finally my new mom and dad found me.   When my mom first saw me she told my dad that I was the dog for them and she wasn’t going home without me (she’s a little hard-headed like me). But she knew that both of us were going to need help understanding each other, so 6 days later, we met Cheryl at Zoom Room.   I know so many commands now, but am still working on my social skills and paying attention (there’s just so much cool stuff to check out!). I’m most proud of the confidence I’ve been building up through new activities and (mis)adventures.   I’ve been with my new family for almost 5 months and I’m not going anywhere!   I’m a bit of a snuggle monster (sometime I pretend I am a lap dog) and I love a good squeaky toy, but who doesn’t?!?
