January’s Dog of the Month

Seattle

El Dorado’s Halos to Diadems, CGC, TDN, THDA

Hello, friends!  I’m Hayley, a four-year old Leonberger.  I was born in Portland, Oregon, and have lived with my human in Seattle since I was eight weeks old.

I love walking in Discovery Park – I stop often (!!!) to analyze the smells, somersault into the tall grass and roll, and thoughtfully survey the vistas.  We also meet a lot of park visitors who wonder what kind of dog I am. Sometimes my human jokes with people that I’m a cross between a Pomeranian and a grizzly bear.

I’m a certified therapy dog, and visit children at many different venues, including branches of the Seattle public library and Ryther Youth and Child services.  We also visit the University of Washington (Go Dawgs!) during finals weeks.

When I’m at home I like to chase and my squeaky football and I bring it back about 75% of the time…..When I think my human is not paying enough attention to me, I search out and steal toilet paper rolls, hats, scarves, socks or underwear, etc. and parade my “treasures” in front of her.

I’ve had so much fun with all my Zoom Room activities, which have included agility (I made all the humans laugh when I would flop down in the middle of tunnel and not come out), tricks and games, scent workshop, and currently, rally obedience.  I think Cheryl and her Zoom Room team are the best!
