Have you ever heard of a silken windhound? They aren’t incredibly popular breeds, so imagine our surprise when we had not one, but two of them join us as clients! This is helped by the fact that they are father and son, and they’re both equally charming in their own way. Archer, the younger, is absolutely brilliant (when properly motivated, of course) and already earned his Novice Trick Dog title when he was 9 months old! Captain, his father, is a bit more of a “jock” type, easily motivated by play (though not to be outdone by his kid, he also earned his Novice Trick title). They are both so goofy and wonderful. Whether they are drooling over goodies with their big alligator mouths, tearing up the agility course, or listening attentively to their next cue, you can’t help but fall in love with them– even if Archer keeps trying to steal our cod sticks!
- Favorite Toy: Archer – lamb chop or agility bumper; Captain – tug rope

- Favorite Hobby: Archer – landscaping (Chewing on sticks, bushes and pinecones); Captain – running or sleeping (no inbetween)
- Favorite activity at the Zoom Room: Archer – Agility class Captain – Obedience class
Archer & Captain’s owner, Rachael, had this to say:
Captain and Archer are great ambassadors for a not very well known breed (Silken windhounds) and everyone who meets them falls head over heels for them both. They are goofballs with so much personality that makes me so happy and lucky to have them in my life. When we aren’t cuddling at home the three of us are traveling both in and out of state for various dog events, anything from dog shows to racing and hopefully in the future rally and barn hunt, and they both have several titles to their names from these efforts! I am so lucky to have dogs that have fun with anything we do as long as we are together and have lots of treats!!!
