Comet, a clever and precocious poodle, is aptly named as he really is a comet on the agility course! Once easily overstimulated and even insecure with new things, Comet has made incredible strides through patient, consistent training and a deep bond with his dad. Now, with effortless precision and a mind as sharp as his turns, he darts through tunnels and over jumps with speed and focus, his intelligence shining through with each round. His improvements have been recognized by not only our trainers, but our other friends in class as well, which makes Comet the perfect dog to highlight this month; he is a fabulous example of how consistency, patience, and dedication really pay off!
- Favorite Toy: Zoom Room Braided Collagen Stick (he’ll destroy any stuffed toy!)
- Favorite Treat: Tuesday’s Beef Training Bites
- Favorite Hobby: Chasing after a tennis ball (mostly bringing it back)
- Favorite activity at the Zoom Room: Agility class (I think he likes the jumps but he’s still working on the weaves)
Comet’s owner, Kurt, had this to say:
I’ve had a LOT of dogs in my life and Comet is my favorite. He’s a bit to handle as he can be reactive to some things but he’s incredibly intelligent, precocious and is totally bonded to me (and vice versa). He enjoys chasing after lizards (thankfully he never catches them) and is very attuned to any rabbit, javelina or other animal that crosses our path when we’re out walking. He loves sweet peppers and is, to me, just angelic when he sleeps by my side in our favorite chair. I love this dog.
