Buddha Bark Dog Park
On June 4 and 5, the Zoom Room hosted a Dog Agility Park at the Buddha Bark Wonder Park event in conjunction with the MTV Movie Awards. Situated in the gorgeous series of bungalows that comprise the Chaz Dean Studio in the heart of Hollywood, the two-day event featured doggie fashion shows, a gifting lounge, booths promoting pet wellness, and of course, our very own Dog Park.
We offered free agility lessons to all comers, and each day we took the runway to talk about the Zoom Room and show off some star pupils. On Friday, Katie brought her incredible rescue Pit, Audrey, who is an accomplished Therapy Dog. Mikaela showed off her wickedly intelligent Goldendoodle, Zingo, with an array of dazzling tricks. On Saturday, Gonzalo’s Bulldog, Sophie, stole the show with hysterical antics, while Stephanie proudly strutted the runway with her rescue Pitbull, Gigi, who has been working with children as a Therapy Dog. Our emcee was Zoom Room COO, Mark Van Wye, in attendance with Clyde Orange, the Komondor, who is now appearing in Marmaduke, and who himself was recently graduated as a certified Therapy Dog.
Our favorite visitor to the Zoom Room Dog Agility Park had to be Jenni Pulos from Bravo’s hit series Flipping Out. (The Chaz Dean Studio received an incredible renovation under the watchful eye of Jeff Lewis last season.) Jenni and the daughter of the show’s producer brought their pups, a Pug and a Cattle Dog mix, and worked them through the course. Not content to let the dogs have all the fun, Jenni herself kicked off her shoes and leaped over the dog jumps, setting new course records.
The Zoom Room’s presence at the event was charted in several publications, including Oxygen Network’s OK! Magazine, the Los Angeles Examiner, and Hollywood Today.
