Discover the Power of Science Based Positive Reinforcement Dog Training
• We Don’t Train Dogs; We Train the People Who Love Them. You will learn a lot in class each week, but the real progress happens when you practice skills at home. Learn to avoid reinforcing bad behavior and teach opposition commands to stop undesired behavior.
• Focus on the Bond, Not Obedience, So You Both Enjoy the Journey. Your relationship with your dog takes effort and how you develop it evolves through all life stages. Our curriculum focuses on building an initial foundation of communication and obedience and then quickly transitions to relationship building through enrichment activities. Therefore we do not allow aversive training tools and methods, such as prong collars, choke chains, and e-collars.
• A Tired Dog is a Happy Dog. Without a job or focus, a dog will create their own, which will likely present itself as undesirable behaviors such as guarding, barking, jumping, biting, chasing, and more. Providing constructive outlets for tasks and work enriches their lives.
• Volunteering Good Behavior is Your Dog’s Primary Job. We teach this by rewarding it generously in the beginning and then tapering rewards off as the volunteering become more frequent and predictable. Always ignore or make undesired behavior impossible.
• Dogs Deserve to be Paid for Their Good Performance. Always reward calm, focused behavior, non-reactivity, and confidence even when you don’t ask for it. “You get what you pet.”
Attend classes that suit your schedule

Embark on a customizable journey
Because no two dogs have the same skills or life experiences, they deserve a custom training plan tailored to their unique needs.
• If your dog is social and hasn’t completed a group class recently, begin with a beginner class suitable for their age and developmental stage. The primary goals of these classes are to build confidence, improve communication, promote neutrality around other dogs, enhance owner focus, and establish basic obedience — laying a solid foundation for more reliable behavior now and more advanced skills in the future.
• If your dog has recently completed a group class and you’re interested in an advanced class, please schedule an evaluation to determine if they can test out of the beginner level.
• Unsure whether you or your dog would succeed in a group setting? We recommend scheduling an evaluation to help decide the best path forward.
• For personalized attention or specific training needs, private lessons are available. These can be converted from group classes at a 2:1 ratio at no extra cost.
graduate at your own pace
We evaluate your and your dog’s progress based on your abilities, not the number of classes attended. To advance, you only need to demonstrate all the skills outlined for each course during a class. Graduating occurs during the class itself — no additional evaluations are necessary.
BASIC OBEDIENCE or PUPPY TRAINING PLUS GRADUATION CRITERIA:
Start with neutrality first, then build skills from a calm state.
- Handler effectively trains with markers “yes” and “uh oh”
- Dog can demonstrate the following skills:
- Name game – head swivel to name with distractions
- Watch me – 3 seconds eye contact with distractions
- Touch for recall – 3 times back and forth
- Down – lure ok
- Heel/come around – lure ok
- Leave it – break focus from uncovered treat
START HERE: Your journey; your pace
Each class level has a focus on a developmentally appropriate set of skills. Dogs graduate as they can demonstrate all the skills, regardless of how many classes they have attended. Dogs don’t generalize, so the training you do at home is important!
Positive Reinforcement Dog Training should be flexible and affordable. Pick the pass option that fits your goals, your budget, and your lifestyle. Use the credits as fast as you like towards any class for which your dog qualifies. Each pass has a generous but firm expiration date, so be sure to use all your credits during each pass’s term to maximize the value!

The training journey never ends with when every step brings you closer to your best friend.
Once you have completed your first pass, you can purchase additional classes or private lessons in a standard pass, a la carte in a momentum pass (2 classes or 1 lesson for $99), or in a momentum monthly membership (2 classes or 1 lesson for $79).
