This Halloween, we’re trading our usual Trainer Tip for something a little more tricky! 🐾✨

Today, Luisa and Grim the goldendoodle are showing off two adorable Halloween-ready tricks that are perfect for showing off your pup’s personality — whether they’re “hiding from the spookies” or “saying their prayers” to keep the ghosts away.

🐶 Trick #1: “Shy”

This one is irresistibly cute — your dog covers their nose like they’re bashfully hiding!
How to teach it:

1. Place a small sticker or a piece of soft tape gently on your dog’s nose.

2. As soon as your dog paws at it, mark with “Yes!” and reward.

3. Repeat several times until your dog consistently paws their nose.

4. Then start adding the cue “Shy” as their paw comes up.

5. With practice, you can remove the tape and just use the verbal cue.
   👉 Bonus: Work on increasing the duration of the paw on their nose for a perfect photo-op moment!

🙏 Trick #2: “Say Your Prayers”

Perfect for dogs who want to “pray away the scaries!”
How to teach it:

1. Have your dog place their paws gently over your arm (you can start from a “paws up” cue).

2. Hold a treat under your arm to lure their head down and behind your arm.

3. Mark and reward when their head dips under — like they’re bowing their head to pray.

4. Repeat and add the cue “Say your prayers” once they understand the motion.
