Block Party Raises Money For Rescue

Wondering how to spend your Saturday afternoon?  Wonder no more!  Come to “Zoom To The Rescue” this Saturday, September 25 and experience fun, friends, and food while supporting the Olympic Animal Sanctuary.

The festivities begin at 11 am at the Zoom Room Culver City.  Activities include:

  • Dog adoptions from four local rescues — Marley’s Pit Stop, Bichons & Buddies, SAFE Animal Rescue, and Angel City Pit Bulls
  • Indoor agility course – test your dog’s skills on the jumps, weave poles, A frame, tire, and more
  • Canine massage
  • Silent auction from 11 am – 3 pm
  • Dog/owner look-alike contest at 1 pm
  • Steve Markwell speaks at 2 pm inside the Zoom Room
  • Raffles at 12:30 pm, 1:30 pm, and 3:30 pm

We will also have barbecue from Barbie’s Q, New Orleans Sno Balls (like “shave ice”) and music.  How much does this much fun cost?  It’s only $10/per person, with children and dogs on leash FREE!

Steve Markwell has made it his life’s work to provide a sanctuary for at-risk dogs.  He takes in former fighting dogs, street dogs, feral dogs and wolf-dog and coyote-dog hybrids that have bitten people or killed animals.  The dogs learn how to get along with each other and people and live in peace and happiness on his property.
