I was born March 27, 2020. “I’m the youngest (in human years) and cutest of three boys in the house. I’ve got a touch of isolation anxiety, so dad must ship me off to day care so he can buy me things like bully sticks and stuffed toys. I’ve been told that I’m a bit high energy, but I don’t buy it. I just think of myself as the friendliest dog around! If you come near me, I’m going to give you lots of butt wiggles, licks, and my infamous Boston Terrier snort. Then, I’m going to jump up and play with you as much as I can. Dad is taking me to training classes to work on that, as if it’s a problem.
My two brothers have thumbs and are more articulate, but I am always trying to have my voice heard by howling when there is an opportune moment. I’ve found TV time and dinner to be the best times for lots of howling with my quivering muzzle.
I’m a go-along-to-get-along kind of dog. All you must do is feed me. Seriously, is it too much for dad to *always* walk around with some food in his pocket?
I enjoy pulling my dad’s leash, even if he does give me a 5-yard penalty every time I do it. My other favorite things to do are sniffing vegetation, sniffing cracks I find on a sidewalk, sniffing hydrants, sniffing dogs, sniffing doors. I just like to sniff.
When I’m not sniffing, you’ll know it because then I will suddenly run in random directions. It’s freeing, until I reach my circumference of safety. Often, it’s about 6’.
Something you might not know about me – I like to lick things. Pillows, bedsheets, my brothers, myself. I’m pretty darn good at it too.
These days, I try to run around Zoom Room near the agility equipment whenever I get the chance. I think Halley and my dad are trying to get me to use them in some sort of predictable manner. I just like to run around!
Reuben’s owner, Mark, had this to say:
Reuben is named after a famous sandwich. And perhaps the name is also popular on the human side of his family. He is the first dog I ever adopted – I had no ideas what I was signing up for! I’ve always wanted a dog, and he’s the mascot of Boston University, where I went to school. I didn’t do much research on dogs. I just figured I’d get a terrier. So first time dog adopters – do your homework and know what you are getting yourself into! Boston’s are awesome, except when they aren’t. And when they aren’t, you’ll know it. And then you’ll come to Zoom Room
