Thanks for supporting local rescues!

We spent a gorgeous afternoon introducing Austin dog lovers to agility at Barkitecture last Saturday. As luck would have it, our booth was right in the middle of all the doghouse design competition’s prize-winners!  Almost everybody who stopped by took time to try out the jump and tunnel at our booth. All of them – people and dogs – left smiling!

The Barkitecture doghouse entries were incredible – including one designed by one of our fabulous Zoom Room members! Austin loves dogs and you could see that a lot of love, creativity and hard work went into these structures. Several of them were Austin-themed, while others featured Hill Country or green building materials. One entry was designed by Cesar Millan and a local builder.

Since Barkitecture is a fundraiser for the Animal Lovers of Austin, many of the doghouses were awarded to bidders in a silent auction. Several lucky dogs now have the coolest house in the neighborhood. Proceeds from the event are distributed to Austin area animal rescue groups.
