In Celebration of Responsible Dog Owners
On September 25th, Zoom Room will celebrate Responsible Dog Ownership Day with free dog training advice, low-cost microchipping, pet adoptions, spay and neuter information, a first aid seminar, therapy dog info, plus loads of kid-friendly activities.
Every day here is Responsible Dog Ownership Day! We love that the Zoom Room is an absolute magnet for responsible dog owners. Because we don’t allow any drop-off services, the dog owners who come here for classes are those who really long to spend time with their pets, learning how to better train them, and getting nice and sweaty together out on the agility course. Because all the products we offer are specifically tailored to improving the health, safety, comfort and training of your dog, we also attract dog owners who truly are seeking out the best possible quality of life for their companion.
What is a Responsible Dog Owner?
Being a responsible dog owner takes many forms. It means adopting, whenever possible. It means starting training early, using positive reinforcement methods as they are not only the most humane, but also the most effective. Dogs without adequate training end up in shelters; they run away, or they bark uncontrollably, or they are reactive and potentially aggressive. A well-trained dog will be with you forever. But in the event that your dog is ever lost, microchipping your pet is another important aspect of being a responsible dog owner. Spaying and neutering is certainly the most effective way to eliminate the problem of homeless pets. We also believe that it’s crucial to feed your dog the best stuff out there – finding the right diet, supplements and healthy treats to keep your dog in great shape. Just as with humans, physical fitness is also a part of the puzzle. Getting regular exercise with your dog is a great way to bond and to improve your pet’s health and happiness.

LOW-COST MICROCHIPPING
Does your dog have a microchip? If not, come get one for just $10! There’s no better way to ensure the safety and safe return of your dog if he or she is ever lost. Thanks to our partnership with Found Animals, we are able to offer full microchipping services for only $10, with proceeds going to local animal rescue organizations. The procedure just takes a few minutes.
This service is offered from 11 am to 2 pm. You must reserve your spot in advance by signing up online, and we’ll need a copy of your dog’s current vaccination records prior to doing the chipping. Click the orange button to reserve your spot.
PET FIRST AID SEMINAR
Denise Fleck of Sunny-Dog Ink will be on hand for a free demo on pet first aid and CPR.
WANNA BE A THERAPY DOG TEAM?
Therapy Dogs visit hospitals, convalescent homes, and schools to provide love and comfort to those who need it most. Learn how to become a certified Pet Partner team and learn about our new Ruff Reading® literacy program at the Zoom Room. Teams will be on hand to answer questions about testing and training.

LOOKING FOR LOVE?
We are welcoming a variety of adoptable dogs from several local rescues who will be on hand with both big and small dogs! So many dogs looking for responsible owners to take them home! GET A HOLD OF YOUR DOG!
Keeping your dog safe is such an important part of being a responsible dog owner. So during RDO Day, we’ll be offering a 25% discount on all of our dog tags, collars, leashes and harnesses, as well as 25% off our popular Come When Called and Leash Walking classes.
KID FRIENDLY!
Should you bring your kids to RDO Day? Absolutely! We’ll have free face painting, balloons and coloring sheets for all the kids. And so your pup doesn’t feel left out, we’ll be giving out free samples of our new Paw-Made™ Frozen Yogurt – Made By Dogs, For Dogs™!
FREE ADVICE
You can’t beat free! Our professional trainers will provide free dog training and behavior tips, as well as information about the AKC’s Canine Good Citizen and Puppy STAR programs. We’ll also have information on hand about low-cost spaying and neutering services.
Phew. That’s a lot! Responsible Dog Ownership Day is simply our way of thanking you – all the wonderful, responsible dog owners out there – who have made the past year such a fulfilling and meaningful success for all of us here at the Zoom Room.

is this a bring your dog event and is there any donation for this event?

Yes, you can and should bring your dog! No donation is required; everything is free (except microchipping which is $10). But we’ll have two wonderful rescue organizations present, so if you’d like to make donations to either, that’s always encouraged.
