Puppy Training

Luckily for you and your puppy, you live in Cary, NC and can start early socialization and positive puppy training classes right here at your local Zoom Room Cary.

• Puppy Preschool (2–4 months)

  This first step focuses on safe socialization, confidence building, and foundations of puppy obedience, with supervised group play and guidance on common puppy challenges like biting, housetraining, and handling.

• Puppy Training+ (4–8 months)

  Build on the basics with puppy manners and life skills: attention, sit, down, stay, and polite leash walking, plus confidence-boosting puppy agility, tricks, and Pup-lates^® — all using positive reinforcement in our indoor Cary training gym.

Obedience Training

Dog obedience training at Zoom Room Cary begins with basic manners and everyday life skills. You’ll work as a team, using positive reinforcement to clearly communicate the behaviors you want. As you progress, classes introduce distractions, off-leash work, and more advanced handling.

We use only positive, reward-based training methods because they are both highly effective and easy for every member of your family to master. Innovative games are woven into the curriculum to keep training engaging and fun for you and your dog.

• Obedience (Foundations)

  In Obedience, you and your dog will learn and practice core manners and obedience skills such as focus, loose-leash walking, polite greetings, and stays. Trainers coach you at your dog’s skill level with games and individualized instruction in a small-group environment. Once you and your dog demonstrate proficiency with these skills, you’ll be approved to move into Advanced Obedience.

• Advanced Obedience (Real-World Skills)

  Advanced Obedience builds on the foundations learned in Obedience. We focus on transferring those manners to real-world situations: working around distractions, practicing in new locations, and generalizing behaviors in preparation for the AKC Canine Good Citizen test. As you progress, you may also work on additional skills that can prepare you for Rally Obedience classes or Therapy Dog Workshops.

Enrichment Classes And Workshops

Dog Enrichment & Specialty Training Classes in Cary

Keep your dog active, engaged, and mentally stimulated with innovative dog training classes you won’t find anywhere else in Cary. Most workshops run in focused three- or six-week curriculums, allowing you and your dog to dive deep into specific training goals. Enrichment classes like Tricks are ongoing and can easily be added into your weekly training plan.

• Nose Work (Weekly Scent Classes)

  Our most popular enrichment class! Nose Work allows dogs to tap into their natural superpower — their sense of smell. Your dog will learn how to search for specific scents in fun, confidence-building games. This is an incredible outlet for dogs of all ages and energy levels, including shy or reactive dogs. We offer weekly Nose Work classes at Zoom Room Cary so your dog can continue progressing, building independence, focus, problem-solving skills, and pure JOY.

• Advanced Nose Work

  Take scenting to the next level as you and your dog work together on realistic search scenarios — locating hidden scent among distractions, navigating rooms, and learning to alert with clarity. This class is perfect for dogs who love to work and thrive when given a “job.”

• Therapy Dog Training

  Share your dog’s love and comfort with those who need it most. This class prepares teams for therapy dog temperament testing and focuses on calm, reliable behavior around distractions — including medical equipment and unfamiliar environments.

• Shy Dog Workshop

  For dogs who may feel nervous, uncertain, or uncomfortable around new people or dogs, this workshop creates a structured and supportive environment to help build confidence. A wonderful option for many rescue dogs.

• Come When Called

  Develop a rock-solid recall — one of the most important safety skills your dog can learn. We’ll teach your dog to turn on a dime when their name is called, even around distractions.

• Loose Leash Walking

  Walking your dog should be a joy, not a tug-of-war. This three-week workshop focuses on leash skills, heeling, engagement, and calm movement around distractions.

• Tricks 1

  Build focus, confidence, and teamwork while learning fun tricks like roll over, play dead, and sit pretty — plus foundational shaping skills for more advanced behaviors.

• Tricks 2

  Take your trick training further with sequencing and complex skills such as skateboarding, tidying toys, and doggy basketball. Great mental stimulation!

• Urban Herding

  A fun alternative sport where dogs herd exercise balls — not sheep! Perfect for herding breeds and any dog who enjoys direction, teamwork, and mental exercise.

• Pup-lates^®

  Strengthen your dog’s core, balance, and body awareness using specialized gym equipment. Ideal for seniors, dogs recovering conditioning, or pups who need safe low-impact exercise.

• Calm Down!

  For excitable or over-energized dogs, this workshop focuses on impulse control, relaxation skills, and building calm responses around distractions — perfect for adolescents!

• Practical Canine Care

  Turn grooming, nail trims, and vet care into positive experiences. Your dog will learn to remain calm and cooperative during everyday handling and wellness routines.
