Puppy Training in Chicago, IL
Puppies can start at Zoom Room as early as 8 weeks old. The American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior recommends early socialization even before full vaccination — in a safe, controlled setting, which is exactly what our indoor gym provides.
What Puppy Training Covers
Our puppy program builds foundation skills through positive reinforcement. Your puppy will learn sit, down, stay, come, and loose-leash walking — but more importantly, they'll learn how to learn. We focus on socialization, confidence-building, and teaching puppies to be comfortable in new environments, around new people, and with other dogs. Every class is structured so you're in the room training alongside your puppy. You'll learn the same techniques our trainers use, so the skills transfer to life at home.
The Socialization Window
The critical socialization period closes around 16 weeks. During this window, puppies are neurologically primed to accept new experiences as normal. Positive exposure during this period — to different surfaces, sounds, people, and dogs — builds a foundation of confidence that lasts a lifetime. After the window narrows, socialization is still valuable, but it requires more deliberate work. Starting early gives your puppy the biggest advantage.
Why an Indoor Gym Matters
Our climate-controlled, indoor facility provides a clean, safe environment for puppies who may not have completed their full vaccination series. Unlike outdoor settings or dog parks, our gym is sanitized regularly and only accessible to vaccinated, screened dogs. This means your puppy gets the socialization they need without the health risks of uncontrolled environments.
